Booking Accommodations Yourself

Most private retreat guests stay at the lodging we recommend and book on their behalf because it creates the best opportunity to bond with your hosts and other guests. Our partnership with these accommodations allows us to keep our retreat rates low. But, if you feel the need to book your own accommodations at a different motel or resort, you do so at your own cost. You will still have the opportunity to participate daily in all retreat activities. The retreat rate remains the same.

If you choose to explore other accommodation options, we will gladly provide you with a list of comfortable and affordable facilities, from the local Cottonwood Best Western to Sedona’s fabulous Enchantment Resort & Spa. For more details about this type of arrangement, please Contact Us.

Cell phone and Internet Connectivity

Because your retreat is a time to get away from the usual distractions and demands of everyday life, we encourage guests to put away cell phones or computers during the week. However, we are very aware of the need to stay in touch with family and business. Cell phone service is available in our area and there is usually Wi-Fi Internet service available also.

Sedona, Arizona

Located in central Arizona, approximately 100 miles northwest of Phoenix, Sedona is a magical place known for its incredible natural red-rock beauty and intense spirituality. In 2004, a prominent national magazine named Sedona “the most beautiful place in America”.

The small city is situated at the opening of Oak Creek Canyon (Oak Creek flows through Sedona) and surrounded by the large and lush 1.8 million-acre Coconino National Forest, encompassing seven wilderness areas.

Workshops

Workshops take place at the Healing Arts Yoga Center, Cottonwood Old Town Plaza, in Cottonwood, about a 20 minute drive from Sedona, among the foothills of sacred Mingus Mountain.

Majestic Geography

Sedona is located in Arizona’s high desert, below the southern edge (Mogollon Rim) of the Colorado Plateau, the 2nd largest plateau in the world (the Tibetan Plateau is larger). It is blessed with breathtaking views, four mild seasons filled with abundant sunshine, and fresh clean air.

Set at an elevation of 4,500 feet, the area offers a mild year-round climate of sun-filled days, cool mountain breezes and clear star-filled nights. The serene setting, high above the Sonoran Desert, is surrounded by towering mountain ranges, the nation’s largest contiguous forest of sweet-smelling Ponderosa pines, and Sedona’s awesome red rock cliffs, buttes and spires.

Area Exploration

Many people say the energy between masculine Sedona and feminine Mingus Mountain offers the perfect place for a harmonious balance of peace and tranquility—which the Navajo people call “hozho”. We will spend time exploring the awesome red rock beauty of Sedona and its sacred energy vortex places as well as the surrounding areas, including the Grand Canyon.
