spacer At Western Spirit we are blessed with an abundance of outdoor activities that we can share with our guests. Your ranch stay with us will include many of the following activities (weather permitting), but they vary week to week and by season. You can choose to be as active or as relaxing as you want! These activity costs, except for skiing, are included in your weekly rate.

Horseback Riding

Take an incredible ride through the beautiful red rocks of Sedona on gentle, sure-footed horses and experience the feeling of the old west. View the plant and wildlife and have a down-home cowboy cookout. Pronghorn antelope

Cowboy Cookout

Enjoy a chuckwagon cooked steak dinner, complete with cowboy beans, biscuits and cobbler cooked in a Dutch oven. Sit around the campfire and sing along with our cowboy guitarist and poet.
Rafting Bald Eagle

River Rafting/kayaking

Float the scenic Verde River through the lush Verde Valley. Catch sight of bald eagles, coyotes, javalina, deer, antelope, and perhaps a mountain lion. If the water level is too low on the river, we might enjoy some liesurely kayaking on Lake Watson.

Jeep Tours

Tour the awesome magical red rocks and buttes of Sedona, retrace the steps of the early Native Americans, and enjoy an adventurous 4-wheel jeep ride.

Hiking

Hike through some of the most spectacular and beautiful scenery in the Southwest, such as Sedona's Oak Creek Canyon, or up Granite Mountain, Doe Mesa or the Woodchute Trail.

Explore the thousand year old Anasazi or Sinaguan ruins in Walnut Canyon, Montezuma's Castle, or at Tuzigoot.

Visit Jerome, Arizona's most famous resurrected ghost
mining town, built high on the edge of steep Cleopatra Hill.

Grand Canyon

One of the great scenic wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon is over one mile (1.5km) deep and 18 miles (27km) wide, and it contains over 277 miles (420km) of the Colorado River. It offers some of the most incredible views and vistas found anywhere, and is just as beautiful in winter as in summer.

Skiing and Snow Shoeing

Both downhill and cross country skiing and snowshoeing are available in winter (snow permitting) at Arizona Snow Bowl, near Flagstaff in the 12,633 ft San Francisco Peaks.

Heard Museum

The Heard Museum in Phoenix is the premier Native American heritage museum in the world and is famous for its extensive cultural and art displays. All the major Southwestern Native American cultures are represented, from the Anasazi to the Zuni.

Biking

Mountain bikes are always available for riding through the local area.

Evening Activities

Services and entertainment include massages, stories of Native American cultures, stargazing, campfire sing-alongs, or just relaxing in the hot tub.
