Arizona retreats

The Western Spirit Enrichment Center retreats and personal growth organization is located near beautiful Sedona, Arizona. Sedona is a magical place known for its incredible natural red-rock beauty and magical spirituality. In 2004 it was named by a prominent national magazine as “the most beautiful place in America”. It is located in central Arizona approximately 100 miles northwest of Phoenix. Rich with the history of colorful characters like Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday, Wild Bill Hickok, Buffalo Bill Cody, Geronimo and Chocise, Arizona truly is the home of the “old west”. Set at an elevation of 4,500 feet, the area offers a mild year-round climate of sun-filled days, cool mountain breezes and clear star-filled nights. The serene setting, high above the Sonoran Desert, is surrounded by towering mountain ranges, the nation’s largest contiguous forest of sweet-smelling Ponderosa pines, and Sedona’s awesome red rock cliffs, buttes and spires.

The area is in close proximity to numerous and special outdoor attractions and activities. In addition to the spectacular red rock area and spiritual magic of Sedona, there is the beautiful San Francisco Peaks mountain range, Mingus Mountain (sacred to the local Yavapai Indians), snow activities in Flagstaff, several ancient Indian ruins, the historic mining town of Jerome, the gentle Verde River, the awesome Grand Canyon, the old territorial capital of Prescott, and, of course, the metropolitan area of Phoenix.

Sedona is located in Arizon’a high desert below the southern edge(Mogollon Rim) of the Colorado Plateau, the 2nd largest plateau in the world (the Tibetan Plateau is larger). The 19 square mile city is situated at 4,500 feet in elevation and its highest point towers well over a mile high. It is located at the opening of Oak Creek Canyon (Oak Creek flows through Sedona) and surrounded by the large and lush 1.8 million-acre Coconino National Forest, encompassing seven wilderness areas. Sedona is blessed with breathtaking views, four mild seasons filled with abundant sunshine, and fresh clean air.
